One day, a miller was going to the
market with his son and his donkey. On the way, they met a man.

The father helped his son sit on the
donkey.
Soon they met a woman. “How shameful of

So, the boy got down and the father rode

“Poor boy!” said the next person they
met. “Why should the laxy father ride while his son walks?
So, the boy got onto the donkey too. As
they went on, they met some travelers.
“How cruel! Two people on one donkey!
They are out to kill the poor animal,” cried one of the travelers.
Hearing this, the father and the son got
down. They decided to carry the donkey on their shoulders. Looking at them, the
travelers started to laugh.
The laughter frightened the donkey. It
broke free and galloped away.
